Requirements

• High School Degree/GED
• Must have a safe driving record as determined by NYS Department of Motor Vehicles

• Experience in a Residential Treatment Center working with adolescents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Health and Safety of Residents
• Actively and diligently supervise youth at all times; both in the facility and during off-grounds programming.
• Utilize appropriate techniques of behavior management and crisis intervention as taught in TCI.
• Provide timely written documentation and oral communication of events.
• Access/communicate with other team members to ensure the health and safety of residents.
• Maintain/inspect the cottage to ensure no health or safety hazards exist.
• Maintain security in buildings and grounds.
• Supervise, assist and teach children to perform all activities of daily living.
• Initiate, support and participate with residents in planned recreation and other therapeutic educational activities.
• Implement PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support) System fully.
• Assist youth with their personal issues and refer issues to the Case Planner/Program Director.
• Observe and keep staff informed daily of significant concerns.
