About The Position

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise children at all times, maintaining a secure, safe environment for children to play and learn in. Supervise and train assistants in your room on policies, procedures, and regulations. Create and implement lesson plans. Complete necessary classroom reports. Prepare daily reports for each child in your classroom. Attend staff meetings outside of work hours. Provide positive feedback to parents. Communicates effectively with students, parents, and other professionals Adhere to proceedings and regulations with the DFPS. Change diapers/ toilet train children where necessary. Always comply with the presentation requirements set by the school. Attend ongoing training to keep education and regulations up to date. Participates in dismissal procedures at the end of after care, ensuring that each child leaves with the appropriate adult (i.e., an authorized adult) Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church Supports and adheres to the policies and procedures of the school and Archdiocese of San Antonio, including the Religious Standards for Catholic School Employees Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits Maintaining a stimulating and varied schedule of activities appropriate for the students in a well-ordered environment Positive interaction with parents Attend Archdiocesan, on campus and other in-services as required Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Director Have copy of medical and emergency records and first aid kit on hand daily Ensure that during the hours of operation there is at least one staff member trained in CPR/First Aid IMPORTANT JOB FUNCTIONS: Maintains current and accurate records according to school policy Collaborates with peers to enhance the work environment and support instructional planning Ability to work well with students, parents, and colleagues in an instructional setting Ability to follow directions and handle multiple tasks Possesses proficient technology skills

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 years old
  • One (1) year of experience in a childcare setting
  • Meet state’s education criteria
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be a team player
  • Have reliable transportation
  • CPR and First Aid certification (can be obtained during job training)
  • Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening

Nice To Haves

  • CDA credential preferred
