The Child Care Worker (Meal Preparation Specialist) at Daughters Project Girls Home (DPGH) plays a crucial role in providing care and support to youth who have experienced trauma and exploitation. This position is integral to creating a safe and nurturing environment that promotes healing and independent living skills among the girls residing at the home. The Child Care Worker will be responsible for meal preparation and serving, ensuring that the nutritional needs of the girls are met while also fostering a home-like atmosphere. The role requires a compassionate and empathetic approach, as the worker will engage with the youth in a nonjudgmental and trauma-informed manner, helping them navigate their challenges and connect with necessary services. In addition to meal preparation, the Child Care Worker will collaborate with other staff members to identify the needs of the clients and provide support tailored to their individual circumstances. The position demands excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong organizational abilities to manage the various responsibilities effectively. The Child Care Worker will report directly to the Facility Manager/Administrator and will be expected to work primarily during the weekends, specifically Friday through Sunday from 3 PM to 10 PM.
