About The Position
Greenacre Homes & School is seeking dedicated Child Care Workers/Counselors to support boys aged 6 to 19 in developing life skills, fostering healthy relationships, and engaging positively with the community. Our organization provides residential care and educational services for young men who have faced various challenges, including abuse, neglect, behavioral issues, and educational struggles. We are looking for motivated individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of our youth. As a Child Care Worker, you will play a crucial role in implementing individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clinical and educational teams. You will participate in staff meetings and training sessions, ensuring effective communication with all treatment team members and external stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include meeting the physical needs of the residents, administering and documenting medication usage, and identifying and reporting on the youth's needs, behaviors, and progress. In this role, you will engage youth in daily living activities, building professional and respectful relationships while modeling positive adult behavior. You will be responsible for implementing effective interventions and demonstrating excellent crisis management skills. The position requires a flexible schedule, including weekday afternoons, evenings, and weekends, within a cozy, home-like environment. Expect daily adventures that include playtime, biking, swimming, hiking, and outdoor exploration. You will work collaboratively with a team to provide care for up to six boys, assisting with homework, organizing sports and exercise activities, coordinating outings, and imparting essential life skills to prepare them for the future. Comprehensive on-site training and supervision will be provided by experienced staff and social workers, ensuring you are well-equipped to succeed in this role.
