About The Position

Join Novastar Kids Co as a full-time ECE Teacher Floater and become an essential part of our teaching team! We are looking for a flexible, adaptable educator who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys working with children across multiple age groups. In this role, you will float between classrooms throughout the day to maintain staff-to-child ratios, cover teacher breaks, assist during transitions, and provide support wherever needed. This position is perfect for someone who loves variety, builds relationships easily, and is passionate about ensuring continuity of care for all children in our center.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • Colorado Shines PDIS 3.0 Level 1 minimum (Level 2 preferred).
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Experience in childcare, preschool, or similar educational setting.
  • Knowledge of child development across all age groups (6 weeks to 6 years).
  • Ability to quickly adapt to different classroom environments and routines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with multiple classroom teams.
  • Ability to implement behavior guidance techniques.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work with children requiring diapering and toileting assistance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

Responsibilities

  • Float between classrooms throughout the day to maintain required staff-to-child ratios.
  • Provide break coverage for lead teachers and assistant teachers.
  • Assist during high-need times including arrival, departure, mealtimes, and transitions.
  • Adapt quickly to different classroom environments, routines, and age groups (6 weeks to 6 years).
  • Follow established lesson plans and daily schedules provided by lead teachers.
  • Supervise and engage students in developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Maintain a safe, responsive, and nurturing environment in all classrooms.
  • Tend to children's personal care needs including diapering, toileting, feeding, and nap supervision.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation protocols including proper food handling.
  • Implement behavior guidance techniques consistent with classroom practices.
  • Support students with special needs following provided accommodation instructions.
  • Supervise children on the playground and during transitions.
  • Communicate with lead teachers about student needs and daily activities.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff across all classrooms.
