Our childcare center is in search of qualified workers to help monitor and lead activities throughout the day. This job will help you develop excellent skills and techniques that can benefit you in both your personal life and in future careers in child development. We are seeking to employ a Childcare Teacher Assistant in our EASTON location. Part time positions are hourly 15-25 hours weekly M-F shifts range between 6:45 am and 5:30 pm. JOB SUMMARY: The Teacher Assistant will help plan and implement a program of activities, which will ensure each child’s personal safety while providing enrichment, physical challenges and learning experiences. The Teacher Assistant will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y, and the regulating agency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 16 years of age
  • Have a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
  • Evidence of physical examination within last 12 months.
  • Negative Mantoux TB test and immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella.
  • Ability to create and sustain a culture of excellence and work and thrive as part of a cohesive team.
  • Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and clean when necessary.
  • Will sometimes work early morning, late nights and weekends.
  • Strong oral communication skills required for occasional public speaking responsibilities.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 75lbs on occasion and 40lbs frequently (children) and move intermittently during work hours.
  • Ability to thoroughly understand Y-USA's three focus areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility; proven ability to identify and meet the needs of the health seeker
