About The Position

The Site Coordinator is responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of each child enrolled in the program and is responsible for supervising all group leaders at their assigned sites. The Child Care Site Coordinator is a leader, who actively participates in activities and is a positive role model to all participants and staff. Provide a warm and caring atmosphere for children in program. Directly responsible for planning and organizing all daily activities; ensure activities are developmentally appropriate for the age of the children. Provide direction and supervision to group leaders assigned to your site as well as program participants at all times. This includes taking calls related to staff absences and assisting in finding subs. Communicate with the parents through daily dropâ€off and pickâ€up. Must be able to pick up afternoon snacks at the Early Learning Center and deliver it to your assigned site. Ensure the work site is clean and a safe environment. Prepare incident reports accurately, consistently and in accordance with established timelines.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain CPR/AED/FA certification (classes provided through the YMCA)
  • Pass a state mandated background check for child care workers
  • Must be 18
  • Able to meet the 75 point criteria for a Site Coordinator per the State of Iowa licensed child care regulations. This is a combination of education, experience and training.
