About The Position

The City of Moreno Valley is looking for our next Child Care Instructors to educate the school youth of Moreno Valley! This position is open until filled and may close at any time without notice. Under general direction of the Child Care Site Supervisor, the instructor will plan and execute an educational program of day care services for school-age children, assist in the day-to-day operations of the child care and development center, and perform related work as required. This is a grant-funded, temporary position. General working hours are Monday - Friday from 1pm to 6pm.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• 24 Units of college coursework in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development (CD).
• Minimum of 6 months paid experience working with children.
• Valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the City's vehicle insurance policy.
• Child Development Permit or Children's Center Permit at the Associates Teacher level issued by California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
• Certificate in Red Cross Basic first aid/CPR (may be obtained within first six months of employment).

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and conduct structured recreational/educational activities for school age children.
• Assist in supervision of Child Care Assistants and Aides.
• Assist in training of staff on new curriculum and procedures.
• Plan and conduct special activity days.
• Keep records and reports.
• Perform related work as assigned.
• Provide quality customer service.
