About The Position

To assist children in the Child Care Center under the direction of a certified teacher by generally working in an inclusionary setting (i.e. least restrictive environment); more specifically, to assist the teacher in general daily classroom activities, help special needs students, and care for their physical, emotional health and safety while affirming their abilities and striving to promote dignity in all relationships in order to deliver Framingham Public Schools’ high expectations for achievement, equal access to high levels of instruction, the achievement of academic proficiency for all students, and the closing of the achievement gap among subgroups within the schools. Requirements

  • Current and Valid MA Office of Early Education and Care license for a childcare provider and Infant Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certified are required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as memos, safety rules, and procedure manuals
  • To express ideas clearly in written and oral communication

  • To establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff and the community
  • To embrace a proactive and solution-focused approach to meeting children needs
  • To work with children of diverse backgrounds with diverse needs in an equitable and inclusive manner

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with infants preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the child to whom assigned in such physical tasks as putting on and taking off of outerwear, moving from room to room, using the lavatory, and so on.
  • Ensures that children are safe.
  • Establishes as fully as possible a supportive and sympathetic relationship with children without fostering or encouraging intense emotional involvement.
  • Meets the needs of the children throughout the day: Feeding, changing, playing and providing developmentally appropriate play activities for the children in the daycare room.
