About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team. At The Goddard School of Nashville Yards, we believe in creating an inspired early learning environment where children experience JOY as they explore and discover the world around them. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role involves engaging with children through play-based learning, implementing educational activities, and ensuring the overall welfare of each child in the classroom.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required (Associate’s/Bachelor's degree or above preferred)
  • Experience in preschool teaching or child care settings is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of childhood development principles and practices.
  • Excellent classroom management skills to maintain an orderly environment conducive to learning.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff members.
  • Knowledge of child welfare practices to ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Skills in providing individualized support to children as needed.
  • Capacity to learn and implement the Goddard curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning in various domains including language, math, science, and physical education.
  • Manage classroom activities effectively to create a positive learning environment.
  • Assess and monitor children's progress through standardized testing and informal evaluations.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's development and classroom activities.
  • Provide care for toddlers, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the school day.
  • Foster a love for learning by incorporating play-based methods into daily routines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience for all students.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom that promotes exploration and creativity.
  • Ability to change diapers, and/or assist with toileting needs (where necessary)
