We are seeking an experienced, innovative, and energetic childcare professional to join our team. We need someone who is able to start a licensed childcare program from the ground up. The childcare program will support the children of BETA Team Members in our South Burlington, VT facility. Must love kids and animals, the outdoors, all VT weather, nature, simplicity, and a good sense of humor! Once the program is up and running, this individual will manage all aspects of the childcare program; development of educational curriculum, planning budgets, hiring/managing the childcare team, and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • A love for educating small humans
  • A love for being outdoors with small humans
  • A world champion multi-tasker
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Has experience with developing and managing a childcare program
  • Knowledge of child development and behavior
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations for childcare facilities, including VT State licensing requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with farm animals
  • Knowledge of Waldorf, Reggio Emelia, Attachment approaches to educating children

Responsibilities

  • Promotes a safe, nurturing, healthy, positive, caring environment where self-concepts are enhanced, independence encouraged, and individuality respected
  • Create programs and activities that encourage the development and growth of the children
  • Maintain accurate records on children to include development, attendance, immunization, and general health; maintain accurate waiting lists
  • Develop and maintain parental rapport: keeping parents informed of their child's daily experiences and center activities
  • Recruiting, training, supervising, and retaining quality childcare team members
  • Plan, develop, schedule and/or provide in-service training for childcare team members
  • Order and maintain childcare supplies and equipment
  • Foster and cultivate partnerships with other organizations
  • Will work closely with our facilities and creative teams to ensure we have a safe and inspiring environment for complying with laws and regulations
