This position involves planning and executing early childhood education experiences to promote the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of each child. The Child Care Assistant works with the director and teachers in developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities. They help establish a program environment that promotes positive interactions and assists in providing and leading planned activities. The role requires interacting with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques, and professionally with staff, parents, and the command. Responsibilities include assisting in maintaining program participation data and completing required daily reports. The assistant helps prepare and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas, monitors children in various settings, and maintains control and accounts for their safety. They may also assist in preparing and serving snacks/meals and perform routine caregiving tasks, ensuring care is provided in accordance with standards, conducting health checks, and ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
