About The Position

Supervises children in the child care area of the Wellness Center.

Requirements

• Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Works under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred
• BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position OR Heartsaver CPR AED required within 90 days of employment in this position AND FA - First Aid certification required within 90 days of employment in this position

Responsibilities

• Ensures children are accounted for and supervised at all times.
• Initiates and leads age-appropriate educational or recreational activities.
• Ensures the environment is in a safe, organized, and clean condition.
• Reports deficiencies to supervisor immediately.
• Cleans or disinfects toys, equipment, storage areas, and play surfaces as scheduled and needed.
• Follows policies and protocols when accepting children into, and releasing children from, the child care area.
• Interacts with children and parents appropriately.
• Follows the organization's policies and protocols when caring for, communicating with, disciplining, or rendering first aid to children.
• Ensures accurate record keeping of utilization, reservations, and tickets.
