POSITION SUMMARY: Supports the work of Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Builds members and the community’s understanding of the YMCA’s impact. Requirements

  • Meets educational and experience qualifications established by childcare licensing.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
  • Health form completed within 30 days of hire date.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Builds personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests. While exemplifying the Y’s commitment to the four-character values of caring, honesty, respect & responsibility and responds to all member and community inquiries promptly.
  • Helps with implementing curriculum within the established guidelines.
  • You must be dependable and build consistency and stability in the classroom for the children in your care. Full-time dependability is crucial to this role.
  • Helps with supervising the children, classroom, and activities at all times.
  • Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
  • Maintains program site and equipment.
  • Helps with keeping required program records.
  • Attends and takes part in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training (18 hours per year)
  • Fulfills any functions?appointed?by the YMCA administration.
