About the position

Step into a role as a Child Assessment and Research Manager at Bright Horizons, where in this support role, you will be responsible for the management and successful implementation of our proprietary child assessment tool, including collaboratively designing frameworks for assessment, collecting and interpreting data about and from assessments and child documentation to ensure children's progress and growth, conducting pilots or surveys to test student growth and outcomes, creating curriculum crosswalks with common core or other relevant standards, working on state curriculum and assessment approvals, and other projects related to their scope of work, ensuring we maintain and exceed our high quality expectations and research-informed practices. The role will also manage research projects focused on improving or measuring child outcomes. The manager will collaborate with the team and full department to meet our goals of delivering the highest quality early learning experiences for children and represent the department in related cross-functional work and external events/collaborations. This is a remote role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management and successful implementation of our proprietary child assessment tool.
  • Design and implement comprehensive child assessment frameworks that align with curriculum goals and standards.
  • Conduct pilots or surveys to test student growth and outcomes.
  • Manage research projects focused on improving and measuring child outcomes.
  • Collect and interpret data about assessments to ensure children's progress and growth.
  • Work on state curriculum and assessment approvals, and crosswalks with common core or other relevant standards.
  • Manage projects in assigned specialty including meeting deadlines, collaborating with stakeholders and team members, and ensuring intended outcomes are met.
  • Work in partnership with other education & dev team members and members of other departments.
  • Serve as an expert to the field in areas of specialty.
  • Align high-quality standards both internal and external such as NAEYC accreditation, to all aspects of work.
  • Balance urgency and quality; communicate thoroughly, effectively, and empathetically.
  • Support department projects, as needed.
  • Stay connected to early education & curriculum research and work of organizations.
  • Contribute to company and department goals in all efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Child Development Required
  • 5 years Early Childhood Education Required
  • 3 years Working with child assessment tools, data, research in early childhood Required
  • Very knowledgeable about child development and early care and education programs
  • Organized and detailed; excellent self-management strategies
  • Manage projects independently, at a high level of quality, and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including editing
  • Customer service orientation
  • Ability to balance urgency and quality
  • Skilled with MS Office
  • Resilient, flexible
  • Lifelong, eager, and quick learner
  • Can work remotely and build collaborative relationships with a virtual team
  • Strong growth mindset, asks questions, learn from mistakes

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Education, Child Development, related field Preferred
  • 3 years Professional experience working for multisite, multistate early care and education delivery/operations Preferred
