About The Position

The Child & Family Therapist at Sea Mar Community Health Centers is responsible for providing individual and family therapy, case management, crisis stabilization, and treatment planning. This full-time position requires the therapist to work with children and families, accurately diagnose mental health issues, and develop appropriate treatment plans. Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, or social work with coursework in psychological diagnostics.
  • Must meet WAC requirements for a Mental Health Professional.
  • Understanding of Behavioral Health Organization and managed care systems.
  • Ability to accurately diagnose mental health issues and develop treatment plans.
  • Knowledge of chemical dependency treatment and coordination with providers.
  • Completion of an annual clinical competency test as a mental health therapist.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Computer proficiency with Cerner and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and/or family therapy and case management.
  • Conduct crisis stabilization and treatment planning.
  • Lead therapy groups as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Educate staff on mental health service referrals and psycho-educational topics.
  • Document mental health services and maintain patient charts.
  • Perform diagnostic assessments and communicate outcomes with collaborative partners.
  • Involve family members in the assessment and treatment planning process.
  • Collaborate with other professionals for family-centered assessments.
  • Refer patients to psychiatric and medication management services as appropriate.
  • Monitor medication effects and provide feedback to psychiatrists.
  • Support staff regarding mental health needs and maintain confidentiality.
