About The Position

The Manager of Child and Family Services is responsible for overseeing the coordination and delivery of community-based services, including early diversion, peer support, parenting education, supervised visitation, and life skills training for youth, young adults, and families. This position ensures services are responsive to community needs, accessible, cost-effective, and aligned with agency policies, procedures, and performance measures. The Manager provides supervision and support to staff, fosters collaboration among local and state partners, and leads efforts to improve systems. The Manager also assists with staff development, marketing, and outreach to promote YSS programs and strengthen community partnerships.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of youth and family-serving systems, including mental health, substance use, judicial, and human services
  • Experience working with individuals impacted by trauma, substance use, or mental health challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and electronic documentation systems
  • Ability to build positive relationships and collaborate effectively across systems
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Valid Driver’s License, Auto Insurance, and Auto Registration.
  • Ability to make good decisions, initiate action independently, give clear directions, and motivate others.
  • Knowledge of community support services, e.g., housing, emergency utility assistance.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or other human services-related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years working with at-risk children and families.
  • Requires 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and auto registration required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision, training, and support to program staff through regular meetings, case reviews, and performance evaluations.
  • Assign referrals and ensure services are delivered according to established program standards and timelines.
  • Monitor staff documentation, assessments, and reports for accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee data entry and reporting in agency systems to track demographics, outcomes, and performance measures.
  • Develop and implement program goals and procedures in coordination with agency leadership.
  • Assist with budget preparation, expense tracking, billing reconciliation, and grant compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for program enhancement and expansion.
  • Work collaboratively with judicial, human services, mental health, and educational systems to identify barriers and improve processes.
  • Represent YSS on committees, task forces, and workgroups at the local and state levels.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Department and other internal teams to ensure coordinated care and service delivery.
  • Promote YSS programs through outreach, marketing, and community events.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, service providers, and funders to strengthen service networks.
  • Assist with staff recruitment, interviewing, and selection.
  • Support staff professional growth through training, mentorship, and constructive feedback.
  • Foster teamwork, accountability, and collaboration across program areas.
  • Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with funding and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing education activities.
  • Prepare and maintain program documentation and reports in accordance with agency policies.
  • Communicate program progress, needs, and concerns regularly with the Director.
  • Use personal vehicle when necessary for job-related activities when a company vehicle is not available.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
