As part of our commitment to transforming pediatric mental health care, Children’s Mercy is proud to expand services through the Illuminate Initiative. We are seeking a skilled and empathetic master’s-level clinician to join our 5West Inpatient Med/Psych Unit. This role involves providing evidence-based therapy—individual, group, and caregiver-focused—in an acute care setting. You’ll be part of a collaborative team of clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, and behavioral health technicians, all working together to support patients during critical moments in their care journey. Children's Mercy Department of Social Work, Child and Family Mental Health Services provides programing, which supports families through evidence-based clinical services. Our mental health services are provided for a broad range of patients and families, including children in mental health crisis, parents struggling with child's behavioral problems, children and families who have been impacted by trauma, and children at risk for abuse and neglect. The age range for patients to receive services is as young as 2 and up to 18, or older within the emergency department should there be a need. Goals of treatment may include safety planning, crisis stabilization, skill development, enhanced resiliency, social integration, improved ability of parents to support their child, improved communication, and parenting skills. Our specially trained master level licensed clinicians are embedded throughout the hospital system within specialty clinics, ambulatory clinics, inpatient units, and emergency departments.
