About The Position

CHOC Specialists is seeking a full-time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with a focused clinical and academic interest in autism spectrum disorders to support the continued growth and advancement of the Thompson Autism Center at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). This position offers a balanced distribution of effort, with approximately 50% dedicated to clinical care within the Autism Center and 50% devoted to providing specialized community-based child and adolescent mental health services. The selected candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric care across a range of clinical settings during scheduled hours. Clinical responsibilities include outpatient—and as appropriate, inpatient—psychiatric evaluations and psychopharmacologic management within a multidisciplinary, team-based care model. The role offers meaningful opportunities for participation in academic and scholarly activities, including quality improvement initiatives, community engagement, resident and fellow education, research, and administrative leadership. CHOC serves as a primary teaching site for the University of California, Irvine, and supports a strong culture of academic collaboration and professional development. Qualified candidates must be fellowship-trained and board-certified or board-eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and eligible for an unrestricted California medical license.
