About The Position

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The mission of Metrocare Services is to serve our neighbors with developmental or mental health challenges by helping them find lives that are meaningful and satisfying. We are an agency committed to quality gender-responsive, trauma-informed care to individuals experiencing serious mental illness, development disabilities, and co-occurring disorders. Metrocare programs focus on the issues that matter most in the lives of the children, families and adults we serve. The LPC/LCSW is responsible for providing trauma focused therapeutic services to individuals and families enrolled in the Integrative Treatment for Complex Trauma (ITCT) Program. The LPC/LCSW uses experience, knowledge base and certified training in ITCT to provide services in a person-centered, supportive community-based environment. Services array will include comprehensive and routine assessment, individual and family trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, development of measurable treatment goals and objectives, referral, linkage, advocacy, monitoring, crisis intervention, and continuity of care. The LPC/LCSW is monitored by periodic supervision.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • Experience working with youth and families who have experienced complex trauma.
  • Experience conducting comprehensive assessments to guide treatment decisions.
  • Experience in providing trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Ability to work with reports and numbers.
  • Ability to calculate moderately complex figures and amounts to accurately report activities and budgets.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Ability to organize workflow and execute clinical services with difficult population
  • Ability to effectively manage a caseload with varying needs.
  • Ability to problem solve, exercise good judgment, and make sound clinical decisions.
  • Skilled in using tact and diplomacy in interacting with staff and consumers.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Able to maintain work in 95% compliance of standards at all times.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.

  • Ability to successfully use an automated clinical record keeping system.
  • Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to utilize Internet for resources.
  • Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state. If licensed in another state, must obtain Texas Driver License within three (3) months of employment.
  • Liability insurance required if employee will operate personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business.
  • Must be insurable by Centers liability carrier if employee operates a Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record.
  • Licensure in Texas as LPC or LCSW.
  • TAC web-based training.
  • TB Test, CPR, First Aid and SAMA.
  • Complete ITCT certification Training within 2 years of employment

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessment of complex trauma, individual and family needs and develop person-centered treatment plans that will be reassessed every 3 months and adjusted as clinically indicated.
  • Provide individual/family therapy utilizing Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy
  • Provide other treatment modalities as indicated including psychoeducation, advocacy and systems intervention, distress reduction and affect regulation training, cognitive and emotional processing, and relational/attachment processing
  • Perform duties in concert with other members of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Develop measurable objectives and goals agreed upon by the consumer.
  • Actively assist in obtaining and modifying goals as needed.
  • Document all attempts to involve consumer, service providers, and caregivers (unless opposed by the consumer) in service plan process.
  • Review service plans every three months or as clinically indicated.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team staffing.
  • Present psychosocial assessment findings.
  • Update team on progress or lack of progress in reaching agreed upon goals.
  • Provide relevant information that might affect course of treatment.
  • Follow-up with assigned consumers who miss a scheduled clinic appointment.
  • Document attempts to contact consumer.
  • Report repeated unsuccessful efforts to contact the treatment team.
  • Oversees and assists assigned consumers medication adherence.
  • Document clinical services by close of next business day.
  • Perform follow up hospital assessments and report assessment outcome to the Clinical Manager
  • Facilitate inpatient admission upon request of the treatment team and/or hospital.
  • Provide continuity of services throughout inpatient stay.
  • Participate actively in discharge planning with hospital.
  • Meet with the consumer within 2 days of discharge in the community.
  • Evaluate progress of clinical session, solicit feedback from consumer(s), and consult with colleagues and team leaders when dealing with unfamiliar/uncomfortable issues.
  • Co-facilitate family education workshops.
  • Identify and assist consumers in obtaining entitlements by providing referrals, advocacy, and negotiation, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
