About The Position

Provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to our outpatient clientele. Helps individuals manage their mental health conditions and improve their overall well-being.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school required.
  • Board certification in child and adolescent psychiatry required.
  • State medical license to practice psychiatry required.
  • Completion of a psychiatry residency program and child fellowship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in outpatient psychiatry preferred.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts thorough psychiatric assessments to diagnose mental health conditions.
  • Formulates accurate treatment plans based on assessment findings and clinical judgment.
  • Schedules and conducts regular follow-up appointments to assess patient progress.
  • Modifies treatment plans as required to meet changing patient needs.
  • Prescribes and manages psychotropic medications as appropriate.
  • Monitors medication efficacy and side effects, making adjustments as needed.
  • Educates patients about their medications, potential side effects, risks and benefits.
  • Provides psychotherapy or counseling services as needed or collaborate with therapists and psychologists to offer comprehensive care.
  • Offers evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical-behavior therapy (DBT), and others.
  • Provides crisis intervention and emergency consultations as needed.
  • Assesses and manage acute psychiatric crises and coordinates higher levels of care when necessary.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessment notes, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and support staff, to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Consults with other healthcare providers and specialists as needed for comorbid medical conditions.
  • Stays current with developments in the field of psychiatry by participating in continuing education, attending conferences, and reading research literature.
