About The Position

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston is seeking qualified candidates to join our excellent faculty team. This is a great opportunity to join a state-of-the-art Behavioral Sciences Campus with 2 psychiatric hospitals serving 500 beds total, and 29 clinics throughout the local Houston area. Located in the heart of the largest medical center in the nation, we have a vigorous research enterprise and multiple educational programs including a large residency program, child and adolescent fellowship, psychology interns, and more. Our robust collegial atmosphere fosters collaboration and teamwork! The position would assist in providing exceptional teaching and supervisory opportunities to residents and medical students as a key training site for the McGovern Medical School and soon to our NEW School of Behavioral Health Sciences, opening in the fall of 2025.

Requirements

• M.D. or equivalent degree.
• Licensed or license-eligible in the State of Texas.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient support at the Children's Assessment Center and Child Protective Services for medication management and therapy.
• Utilize various therapeutic techniques including Play Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
• Be onsite for services.
