About The Position

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Academic Pediatric Hospital Medicine- CARES (Child Advocacy and Resource Evaluation Service) Team is seeking applicants for a full-time, non-tenure track academic position. Academic rank at the time of appointment shall be commensurate with experience and credentials.

Requirements

  • Completed Pediatric Residency
  • Board certified/Board eligible in General Pediatrics
  • Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of equal employment opportunity and affirmative action.

  • Competency in evaluations of both physical and sexual abuse in children.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating children at risk for abuse/neglect both in inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Attending and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Engaging in community outreach and educational opportunities surrounding child abuse and neglect
  • Teaching residents and medical students on topics involving child abuse
  • Preparing and participating for court testimony when indicated
  • Research opportunities are available if the candidate is interested.
