About The Position

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for defining and executing the technical vision and strategy of the Financial Services vertical while driving technological innovation and excellence across the entire industry. This role involves building and mentoring high-performing teams, setting industry technical vision, and leading the industry's technology and delivery organizations to ensure excellence. The CTO will develop and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap, partner with clients to co-create innovative solutions, and oversee the design and successful delivery of industry-specific solutions. Additionally, the CTO serves as Apex's technology thought leader in the industry, maintaining strategic industry partnerships, and ensuring internal cross-functional collaboration to support to these initiatives.

Requirements

Proven experience as a CTO, Technology Leader, or equivalent role in an IT Services or consulting environment.
15+ years of progressive experience in both Financial Services domain and technology leadership, with 5+ years in senior executive roles.
5+ years' experience building, developing, and leading an Industry focused team of technical consultants.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field; Master's or MBA preferred.
Relevant certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), enterprise architecture, or industry-specific frameworks.
Deep understanding of technology trends, challenges, and opportunities within a specific industry vertical.
Demonstrated success in leading technology strategy and execution within Financial Services
Strong background in enterprise architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), data strategy, and emerging technologies.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage technical and executive audiences
Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technology strategies into measurable business outcomes.
Skilled at translating complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions
Experience managing distributed teams and working within global delivery models Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to the target industry.
Recognized thought leader in industry forums, publications, or speaking engagements.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive, forward-looking technology roadmap tailored to the specific industry, aligning with business goals, market trends, and client needs.
Leads sales enablement initiatives to include training and mentoring the industry sales team so they are equipped to drive industry solutions to the market.
Partner with clients to understand their challenges and opportunities and engage directly with them to co-create innovative solutions leveraging emerging technologies.
Serve as a trusted advisor on digital transformation.
Oversee the design and delivery of industry-specific IT solutions, ensuring technical excellence, scalability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Take accountability for the successful delivery of solution projects, meeting timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Lead the development of industry-specific platforms and reusable assets, integrating product management principles into solution design.
Work closely with Sales, Delivery, Product, and Marketing teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of technology initiatives.
Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with key industry players, including hyperscalers, startups, and academic institutions.
Ensure alignment with partner channels, such as Microsoft industry verticals, to enhance solution offerings and market reach.
Represent the company as a technology thought leader through speaking engagements, white papers, and participation in industry forums and conferences
Oversees the Technology and Delivery Executives and may play a TE and/or DE roll.
Serve as leader of the industry practice and in some cases, directly manage a team of Specialty Internal Practice Consultants (Specialty IPCs); a high-performing team of technologists and architects focused on industry innovation and delivery excellence.
Coaches team on consultative selling, delivery and technical leadership, instilling a sense of ownership and accountability in meeting their goals.
Provides leadership in industry practices, setting standards and driving best practices across the organization.
