About The Position

The Chief Strategy Officer will build and lead the strategy and account-planning function at Trozzolo and personally guide the most important strategic work across the agency. This role owns the process of getting to real, actionable insights—and turning those insights into work that spurs client growth. The CSO leads with confidence, clarity, and creative curiosity, inspiring teams to think bigger and choose smarter. They “play nice with others,” becoming a true partner to Creative, Account, Media, and Operations leadership. At Trozzolo, strategy must be rigorous but flexible—strong enough for complex business challenges and nimble enough for a constantly shifting marketplace. This role shapes the future of strategy at Trozzolo: building talent, tools, and ways of working that blend classic brand strategy, modern growth thinking, and deep understanding of how people behave today. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader who is as comfortable in the boardroom as they are in a brainstorm—equal parts business mind and creative catalyst.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or a related field is required. MBA or master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in strategy, brand, marketing, consulting, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role guiding teams and advising executive-level clients.
  • Deep command of brand, growth, and communications strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Builds Trozzolo's Strategy & Account Planning function from the ground up—people, process, tools, and standards.
  • Sets the strategic bar for the entire agency.
  • Leads and governs the agency's most important brand, growth, and communications strategies.
  • Creates clear, usable frameworks for brand positioning, customer insight, and go-to-market thinking.
  • Partners with Operations to ensure strategies are not just smart—but realistic, and profitable.
  • Instills a repeatable system that connects insight → strategy → execution → results → learning.
  • Makes strategy visible, practical, and embedded in everyday agency work.
  • Serves as senior strategic counselor to Trozzolo's most critical clients and prospects.
  • Personally shapes high-stakes engagements such as: Brand transformations Growth and market expansion Portfolio and innovation strategy Customer and experience strategy
  • Works hand-in-hand with Account Leadership to integrate strategy into every relationship.
  • Elevates creative thinking through sharp, inspiring briefs.
  • Strengthens Trozzolo's reputation as a true business partner, not just a marketing vendor.
  • Defines and evolves Trozzolo's strategic point of view in the market.
