The Chief Services & Infrastructure Officer will be responsible for optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Department of the Navy's (DON) Information Technology (IT) infrastructure. This role involves advising on the development of shared IT services to enhance business and warfighting outcomes, supporting the DON CIO Information Superiority Vision initiatives, and developing strategies and policies for IT reform. The officer will also assist in the governance and management of enterprise IT infrastructure investments across the DON, ensuring alignment with the priorities of the Secretary of the Navy and Secretary of Defense.

  • Advise on optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the DON's IT infrastructure.
  • Serve as senior advisor for the infrastructure and enterprise services components of the DON CIO Information Superiority Vision initiatives.
  • Support the development of strategies and policies for IT reform.
  • Act as a technical advisor in support of defense business system certification, audit, and reform.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive DON IT investment strategy.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug test.
  • Experience in leading IT functions in a large organization.
  • Knowledge of IT trends and capabilities within the federal government.
