The position involves directing the fiscal planning and budgeting process, coordinating business record keeping, and overseeing various operational aspects of the district. Responsibilities include preparing revenue and expenditure budgets, managing payroll and benefit programs, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The role also encompasses procurement, transportation services, insurance programs, and collective bargaining negotiations. The individual will represent the district in legal matters, assist employees with retirement planning, and participate in hiring decisions.   • Directs the fiscal planning and budgeting process by preparing the legal budget and monitoring the district's performance against the budgetary plan.
  • Coordinates business record keeping and operations of business services including payroll, benefit programs, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budgetary reports.
  • Reviews and directs data processing aspects related to district operations.
  • Conducts duties of Treasurer, including care and custody of district funds and securities.
  • Administers procurement involving bidding and purchasing of supplies and equipment.
  • Directs capital equipment acquisition and planning process, including financing of major capital projects.
  • Directs transportation services, evaluates alternatives, and monitors contracts with transportation companies.
  • Administers district's insurance programs and represents the district in insurance cooperatives.
  • Represents the Board's management team in collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Administers contract compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Acts as primary representative in lawsuits and state/federal investigations.
  • Consults with employees on retirement benefits and serves as a resource for retirement planning.
  • Participates in hiring decisions for certified and non-certified personnel.
  • Collaborates with legislative and professional associations on educational issues.
  • Oversees financial components with the Building & Grounds Department.
  • Oversees the Food Service Department and its daily operations.
  • Oversees the District's technology operations and online payment portals.
  • Prepares annual long and short-range enrollment and financial forecasts.
  • Completes special projects as assigned by the Superintendent.
  • Attends Board meetings and prepares reports as requested by the Superintendent.
  • Performs all other duties as required by the Board and Superintendent.
  • Provides financial literacy and leadership in school referendum planning and community engagement.
  • Files tax levies, manages bond sales, and ensures compliance with financial regulations.
  • Prepares and submits ISBE reports including annual statements of financial affairs.
  • Possess the equivalent of a Master's Degree (preferred) with a Chief School Business Official license through the State of Illinois.
  • Completion of a leadership preparation program through an accredited university or college.
  • Successful completion of State proficiency exams.
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business or Education with related experience.
  • Professional Educators Licensure (PEL).
  • Successful CSBO experience required.
  • Salary commensurate with experience.
