About The Position
Serves as the liaison between the residents and faculty of the Physician Residency Program, serving as the spokespersons for residents during their attendance at various hospital and administrative functions. Provides leadership for the resident group and works constructively to solve problems in coordination with the Program Director. Assumes a vital role in the day-to-day functioning of the residency and the future direction of the program. The Chiefs have the opportunity to develop leadership, management, and administrative skills. The incoming chief residents are required to attend an annual 'Chief Resident' conference.
