About The Position

A minimum of eight years leadership experience in a nonprofit, overseeing multiple programs or contracts ideally at an organization with emotionally challenged youth and troubled families. Demonstrated cultural competence. Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage and balance multiple projects. Ability to make decisions or intervene in difficult or complex situations and resolve problems as they arise. Demonstrated commitment to an interdisciplinary, collaborative team approach to work. 5. FUNCTIONS: Oversee assigned programs. Coordinate staffing. Deploy resources to assigned programs.

Responsibilities

  • Directly superviseassignedprogram directors,managersand coordinators, working closely with senior program staff to build their skills and confidence so they can mentor, encourage and motivate all staff
  • Foster a team-oriented, supportive, accountable work environment
  • Help to ensure effective roll out, implementation, and evaluation of new programs and initiatives
  • Deploy resources efficiently and effectively toward organizational goals, working with staff to balance workload and effort, and provide regular feedback so that key staff can continuously improve their supervision and mentoring skills.
  • Assisting the recruitment and hiring of new staff members for assigned programs
  • Work closely with senior leadership team to ensure successful program teams
  • Assisting the development of programbudgetsand support program staff to develop and manage their team budgets
  • Work closely with the finance department to budget andmonitorprogrammatic operations to ensure sound fiscal and system management
  • Collaborate with senior leadership team to implement special projects aimed at increasing program and organizational capacity
  • Coordinate planning and activities necessary for development program designs in response to RFPs and RFAs
  • Provide assistanceand guidance on how to troubleshoot program and staff performance challenges.
  • Mentor directors,managersand coordinators on how to proactively engage in planning to improve program management.
  • Ensure that the Agency’s procedures reflect changes in crisis intervention approaches
  • Monitor training needs of staff in assigned programs
  • Facilitateregularmeetings with assigned Program Directors, Administrators and Supervisors
  • Provide supervision, training and evaluation of the Program Administrator for Agency and Behavioral Support, the Program Administrator for the Runaway and Homeless Youth Shelter and Street Outreach Program,and the Director of Residential Services
  • Provide yearly performance evaluations on allassignedstaff withwhom he/she hassupervisory responsibility.
  • Determinestaffing plans to achieve program goals andobjectivesandparticipatein hiring decisions for new program staff
  • Deliver Mandated Reporter and Confidentiality training to assigned staff on an annual basis
  • Oversee all Risk Management matters including Critical Incident and Significant Incident Reports.
  • Review all Critical Incident Reports and initiate safety plans or corrective actions when indicated
  • Assistin the coordination ofdebriefing meetings for staff following Critical Incidents
  • Monitor/Review the Agency log as it relates to all Critical Incident Reports
  • Review allAbuse/Neglect andSignificant Incident Reports with the COO/CCOand OCFS/JCrepresentatives
  • Assist theCOO/CCO and QI Specialistwith investigations,i.e.NYSED, OCFS and Justice Center investigations, and provide ongoing assistance/documentation
  • Represent Agency and Behavioral Support, Shelter, Outreach, Residential programs at the daily administrative Risk Management meetings and bi-weekly Executive meetings
  • Attend all monthly Incident Review Committee meetings andassistin developing the agenda for those meetings
  • Ensure the implementation of outcomes data analysis in all assigned programs/service areas
  • Establish annual program, departmental and staff goals andobjectivesand track results against these goals as well as accountability protocols
  • Work with the senior leadership team and program team to evaluate program strategies and goals.
  • Analyze internal reports to evaluate program effectiveness using an outcomes-based approach and ensure the agency’s ability toanticipateand effectively respond to changing client needs.
  • Ensure the delivery of qualitative and quantitative goals and outcomes of programs and services.
  • Coordinate and analyze theappropriate datato inform the programmatic and operational decision-making process.
  • Analyze and assess programs based on data collected and implement corrective measures ifrequired
  • Assume duties of the Chief Operating Officer in his/her absence
  • Assistin the development and writing of RFPs and grants for assigned programs
  • Serve onadditionalcommittees asappropriate tothe position of Chief Program Officer
  • Participate in all Service Outcomes Action Research (SOAR) meetings
  • Abide by the NYS Justice Center Code and the SAI Codes of Conduct/Ethics
  • Perform/assume other duties as assigned.
