About the position

The Chief Program Officer (CPO) provides leadership and strategic direction for all of the direct service programs at DevNW, including financial literacy, Individual Development Accounts, first time homeownership, foreclosure and eviction prevention, young adult housing navigation, home repair and rehab, and others. The CPO is responsible for ensuring that our programs and services are positioned to best accomplish DevNW's primary mission: to overcome historic and systemic inequalities in order to help all members of our community (especially those who have been excluded from financial and housing opportunities) achieve financial stability and build assets that can be passed to the next generation. Working with the CEO, the Executive Management Team, and the Programs Leadership Team, the CPO works to make sure our resources are being used in the most impactful way (including program design, start-up, adaptation, retirement, and ongoing evaluation as needed to be responsive to community needs); seeks additional, diversified resources to further our impact; develops the strategic partnerships we need for collective impact; supports trendspotting to shape advocacy priorities; ensures that the staff within the Programs team is unified behind the vision and mission of our work; collaborates across the many departments of DevNW to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients, residents, and partners; and anything else needed to accomplish the work and intended impact of our programs and services.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in program management.
  • Strong understanding of financial literacy and housing programs.
  • Experience in strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Ability to develop partnerships and advocate for community needs.
  • Experience managing a diverse team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in nonprofit management.
  • Familiarity with community development financial institutions.
  • Knowledge of housing policy and advocacy.
