About The Position

Provide supervision of units who deliver probation and conditional release services. Monitors the performance of probation services to verify their compliance with federal, state, and departmental guidelines. Establishes consistent programs performing day treatment services, probation and conditional release functions, by ensuring services are provided in accordance with statutes, administrative rules, policies and procedures. Maintains liaison with courts, the State attorney's office, public defenders, and law enforcement agencies within the Judicial circuit. Serves as superior contact with police department, school personnel, other state agencies, judges, community group providers, vendors, parents and clients. Implement a range of monitoring activities to ensure effective service delivery. Serves as support provider and coordinator for stakeholders’ initiatives within the circuit. Coordinates and communicates with other agencies to ensure goals and objectives for non-residential programs, including prevention, diversion and intervention services. Plan, coordinate, attend and organize program activities. Establish a circuit prevention diversion plan in cooperation with local providers. Liaison with contracted programs performing day treatment services, probation and conditional release functions. Liaison with department personnel in specialized areas to resolve problems and effective utilization of department resources. Supervises program staff responsible for the oversight of day treatment programs to ensure compliance with department guidelines, policy and procedures. Provides status reports of the circuit's performance to the Regional Director as to the circuit's achievement and areas where corrective action is needed. Supervises administrative staff to ensure functions are in compliance with personnel policies, fiscal accountability and general services. Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently,
  • Ability to communicate with excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS).
  • Knowledge of Agency and State Policies and Procedures.
  • This position requires a high school diploma.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience preferably in youth delinquency. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of experience.
  • A minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience.
