Reporting to the Director of Collections & Exhibitions, the Chief Preparator is a critical member of the collaborative staff charged with producing the museum’s ambitious exhibition program, gallery installations and permanent collection rotations at a high level within the allotted budget, space, and time. Responsible for the direct supervision of full-time technicians, temporary technicians, and other contractors, working on exhibition and installation projects to include graphics, display, lighting, painting, art handling, framing, art preparation, technology and AV equipment, security and program set up. Hires, trains, and coordinates preparation staff schedules.
