Under the general direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Chief Pharm Officer, ISD will direct the development, implementation and ongoing administration of the UPMC Health Plan Pharmacy Program. The Chief Pharm Officer, ISD is responsible for the effective leadership of the Health Plan's pharmacy programs to maximize customer satisfaction and health quality at minimal costs. Accountability includes, but is not limited to: development and implementation of a strategic business plan, pharmacy operations, pharmacy marketing, formulary management, clinical initiatives, budgeting and forecasting, and contract negotiation and management for all related lines of business. The Chief Pharm Officer, ISD works with a broad spectrum of UPMC Health Plan, UPMC Health System and the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy personnel and physician leaders to lead the overall strategy of the Health Plan's pharmacy program. As a member of senior management, this matrix position contributes to the development of, and integration with, the UPMC Health Plan business strategy and success.
