About The Position

Position Purpose Under limited supervision of the cardiovascular surgeon, sets up, operates, and manages technical life support equipment required for patients undergoing open heart surgery and ECMO. What you will do Investigate and evaluate new technologies for increased efficiency and improved quality. Supervise perfusion staff and be responsible for management of the section. Position may require working at either campus or alternate sites. Full access to medications is given to the incumbent of this position because they are required by their job responsibilities to handle, prepare, or administer medications as dictated by the applicable scope of practice regulations. Manage the ECMO Program and supervise Perfusionists and ECMO Specialists who participate in the care of patients on ECMO. Requirements

  • Education: B.S. in sciences; graduate of an accredited perfusion program.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-years clinical experience
  • Licensure: CT state license.
  • Certification : ABCP and BLS required
