Leidos is seeking a Chief Operations Engineer to lead operational readiness and sustainment for the FLITE+ effort at Buckley Space Force Base. In this mission‑critical role, you will provide senior operational leadership for Missile Warning Integration and Test, ensuring uninterrupted system performance and 24/7 mission support for one of the nation’s most essential space-based warning capabilities. As the operational authority for Missile Warning Integration and Test, you will guide a high‑performing team, drive operational excellence, and ensure the FORGE environment remains reliable, resilient, and ready to deliver at all times. Anticipated start date: 1 April 2026 What You’ll Be Doing Serve as the Chief Operations Engineer for Missile Warning Integration and Test, leading all operational activities across the enterprise. Provide expert management and mentorship to the operations team, ensuring disciplined execution and continuous 24/7 system availability. Oversee operational readiness, sustainment, and performance of mission systems, ensuring rapid response to issues and proactive risk mitigation. Demonstrate mastery across system operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and mission continuity processes. Advise senior leadership on operational posture, system health, and improvements to enhance reliability and mission assurance. Telecommuting 50%: Candidates must live within commuting distance of Buckley SFB, CO.
