About The Position

South Shore Community Action Council (SSCAC) seeks a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to work in partnership with its CEO and CFO to ensure SSCAC has the operational controls, administrative and reporting systems and procedures, and personnel supports in place to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. SSCAC is a private 501c3 multiservice community action agency with federal, state, and private funding streams comprising its $30+ million budget and a workforce of 240+ employees across 7 locations on the South Shore and Cape Cod. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The COO will drive the continuous assessment, modernization, and improvement of SSCAC’s internal operating systems, workflows, policies, and procedures to actively support the agency’s anti-poverty mission, community and internal needs, strategic goals, workforce, and compliance with program standards and applicable state and federal laws and regulations, including CSBG, Head Start, and LIHEAP. The COO will also oversee Human Resources, IT, Facilities, and selected programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum BA/BS in non-profit management, human services management, business management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of related supervisory/executive experience.
  • Experience overseeing daily operations of a multi-service agency, preferably a community action agency or large 501(c)3 nonprofit.
  • Human Resources expertise and management of large state and federal budgets preferred.
  • Candidates must undergo a background check that includes a CORI/SORI/BRC fingerprint, according to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
