Chief Operating Officer

About the position

We are seeking a highly driven and operationally excellent Chief Operating Officer to join our founding executive team. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will be responsible for building the operational backbone of the company, shaping our go-to-market strategy, and enabling scalable growth across engineering, deployment, and commercialization. This is a rare opportunity to join an early-stage, venture-backed company redefining a frontier technology category.

Responsibilities

• Drive company-wide execution by translating vision into operational plans and measurable outcomes
• Build and lead functions across operations, go-to-market, partnerships, and customer success
• Develop and implement scalable processes for project delivery, logistics, and cross-functional alignment
• Partner with the CEO on strategic planning, capital allocation, and board/investor communications
• Hire and manage key team members across GTM, ops, and support functions
• Foster a culture of velocity, accountability, and clarity across all teams

Requirements

• Proven success scaling operations or product delivery at an early-stage technology startup (preferably in AI, robotics, or deeptech)
• 7–15 years of progressive leadership experience, including at least 3 in a COO or Head of Ops/Strategy role
• Demonstrated ability to implement systems, processes, and metrics that enable rapid growth
• Strong cross-functional leadership with a bias for action and comfort in ambiguity
• Familiarity with robotics, AI, or hardware-adjacent industries is a strong plus
• SF Bay Area residency or willingness to relocate/hybrid commute is preferred
