About The Position

The SVP, COO of Ryan Alternative Risk is responsible for developing the vision, strategy, and capabilities needed to enable and support revenue growth, drive operational excellence, and mitigate risks across the enterprise. This role involves leading all Operations teams, supporting the CEO in strategic planning, and ensuring alignment with company goals while actively participating in governance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 15 years of experience in a senior leadership role within insurance or insurance brokerage.
  • Experience developing vision, establishing direction, and building commitment across the enterprise.
  • Experience with successful implementation of business transformation programs.
  • Ability to attract and retain talent and motivate in a collaborative operations environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with individuals and groups.
  • Significant M&A integration experience.
  • Experience leading lean process improvement and intelligent automation.
  • Broad and deep operations and technology experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Ryan Alternative Risk CEO in developing the strategy and business plan.
  • Establish investment priorities considering financial and people constraints.
  • Develop execution roadmaps focused on driving growth and productivity improvements.
  • Monitor the external landscape to support strategy development.
  • Establish regular business and operations reviews to monitor progress and address issues.
  • Drive the implementation of Ryan Alternative Risk operating model priorities.
  • Design and lead all carrier interactions to enable digitization and integration of IT and operations.
  • Expand the usage of Business Shared Services to capture economies of scope and scale.
  • Drive lean processes and deliver automation to improve productivity and quality.
  • Lead post-close integration planning and execution for acquisitions.
  • Ensure adequate BCDR plans are implemented for continuity and resiliency of operations.
  • Build out the Ryan Alternative Risk operations organization and retain key talent.
  • Oversee and manage resource demand, capacity, and operations budgets.
  • Establish service levels, metrics, and KPIs to measure performance and compliance.
  • Deliver a positive customer service experience to all stakeholders.
