About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) provides executive oversight and management of the operational, financial, human resources, and facilities for Queen of Peace Pastorate. This role is vital in supporting the mission of the Church. The COO ensures that the parishes and school operations reflect this mission through prudent financial management, effective oversight of facilities, and collaborative leadership with staff and ministry leaders. The COO works closely with the Pastor, and various advisory councils to manage resources efficiently, develop and monitor budgets, and foster operational excellence. This position requires an individual with a strong sense of stewardship, leadership, and a pastoral approach to working with others. Excellence in communication, and foresight in planning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive oversight and management of operational, financial, human resources, and facilities.
  • Support the mission of the Church through effective management.
  • Ensure parishes and school operations reflect the Church's mission.
  • Manage resources efficiently and develop budgets.
  • Foster operational excellence and collaborative leadership.

Requirements

  • Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years in operations management, including budget oversight, HR, and facilities management.
  • Experience in a Catholic parish with a school strongly preferred.
  • Valid South Dakota driver's license.
  • Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Sioux Falls Safe Environment Policies, Code of Conduct, Background Check.
