The Department of Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applications for the position of Chief of General Surgery at UCLA West Valley Medical Center. This is a faculty appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level within the University of California clinical health sciences professor series. The Chief of General Surgery will lead a team of 3-4 surgeons, forming part of UCLA's Division of General Surgery at UCLA West Valley Medical Center. This will be a newly formed surgery service at this site and be part of a Division renowned for its exceptional patient care, groundbreaking research, and advancements across subspecialties including colon and rectal surgery, trauma and critical care, minimally invasive and bariatric surgery, endocrine surgery. As Chief, the incumbent will collaborate with the Department Chair, Vice Chair for Clinical Operations & Strategic Planning and Vice Chair for Ambulatory Surgery to expand the Division's clinical and educational missions to our newest community medical center, UCLA West Valley Medical Center. The UCLA West Valley Medical Center is a community center located in West Hills, California, serving a diverse array of patients from across San Fernando Valley. This role encompasses responsibilities for faculty development, financial performance, and clinical excellence while increasing the visibility and prominence of the Division both locally and regionally.
