Chief of Staff

Alpaca HealthNew York, NY
Onsite

About The Position

Alpaca Health is building the operating system for independent healthcare practices, starting in autism care. We help clinicians launch and scale their own clinics by providing AI-powered software, payer contracting, and full back-office infrastructure. Our goal is simple: shift power in healthcare away from large consolidated entities and back to clinicians. We are growing quickly and expanding into new states this year. The problems we are solving are operationally complex, high-stakes, and deeply meaningful for families. We've raised over $14M in funding from early-stage investors like Core VC, Adverb Ventures, and South Park Commons, and are building for long-term category leadership. More importantly, we're serving hundreds of patients, while growing 30% MoM. We are hiring a Chief of Staff to work directly with the CEO to help scale Alpaca Health. This is an elite generalist operating role for someone who wants to be at the center of company-building. You will help drive priorities, accelerate execution, and build the systems that allow the company to move faster than everyone else. You will see everything: strategy, product, hiring, growth, fundraising, operations, and the messy reality of scaling healthcare. This role is not about managing calendars or running “special projects.” It is about increasing the output of the CEO and the company. The bar is high. The pace is high. The expectations are high.

Requirements

  • You are extremely ambitious and want to build something meaningful at high velocity.
  • You are comfortable working harder and moving faster than most people.
  • You thrive in environments with little structure and high accountability.
  • You are a systems thinker who instinctively turns chaos into repeatable processes.
  • You can manage a large volume of parallel priorities without dropping details.
  • You communicate with clarity and judgment, internally and externally.
  • You bring strong analytical horsepower and can move between strategy and execution seamlessly.
  • You have experience in consulting, investing, startup operations, healthcare strategy, or similarly demanding roles.
  • This role is best suited for someone who wants to become a founder or senior operator and is willing to earn that opportunity through real responsibility.
  • NYC-based candidates (or candidates open to relocation). We work 5 days a week in person.

Responsibilities

  • Operate as an extension of the CEO
  • Maintain full context on company priorities, risks, hires, launches, and critical decisions.
  • Ensure the CEO is focused on the highest-leverage opportunities.
  • Pressure-test strategy and translate direction into execution.
  • Prepare for leadership discussions, investor updates, and major company decisions.
  • Multiply execution across the company
  • Drive the most important cross-functional initiatives. To start, you'll own provider success and digital growth initiatives, and either grow into a functional lead or hire for one.
  • Bring structure to ambiguous problems and push them to resolution and build scalable processes that allow the company to grow without breaking.
  • Build operating systems for scale
  • Run business reviews and KPI tracking across teams.
  • Design planning, prioritization, and accountability frameworks.
  • Improve decision-making speed and organizational clarity.
  • Identify when the company needs new functions, and help stand them up.
  • Do whatever moves the company forward
  • Some days will be strategic. Some will be deeply operational.
  • You will jump into hiring, GTM execution, financial analysis, provider launches, or product decisions depending on what matters most that week.
  • You will own outcomes, not tasks.

  • Competitive salary
  • Meaningful equity
  • Health benefits
