About The Position

Scopely has an exceptional opportunity for a Chief of Staff working in the office of co-Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Javier Ferreira, and reporting to the VP, Strategic Operations - Office of the Co-CEO. The Chief of Staff will ensure that the Office of the Co-CEO (OCEO) runs with precision, discipline, and pace. Partnering closely with the VP - Strategic Operations, this role serves as a strategic and operational backbone of the OCEO, running the day-to-day operating rhythm, driving follow-through on executive decisions, owning communications on behalf of the co-CEO, as well as driving the project management infrastructure that keeps high-priority initiatives on track. Given the influence and highly visible nature of this role, the Chief of Staff will have unique levels of exposure and potential to drive impact across the company. The Chief of Staff must operate with the judgment, credibility, discretion, and tempo to engage senior leaders across the enterprise while maintaining a relentless focus on execution and accountability. The right person will partner seamlessly with the VP, Strategic Operations to ensure the OCEO is operating at peak effectiveness and delivering maximum value to the organization. This role is will be located at HQ in Culver City, CA

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA a strong plus.
  • Top-tier investment banking, consulting, or product management background with longevity in previous roles strongly preferred.
  • Prior exposure to and knowledge of games/mobile gaming business preferred.
  • Experience working with senior executives in a fast-paced, agile environment. The ideal candidate will approach the job with a great sense of urgency, enjoy taking the initiative, thrive at juggling multiple priorities, and seamlessly shift gears as needed.
  • Strong data and analytical expertise, knowledge and comfort with financial P&Ls, and software/gaming product KPIs.
  • Project management experience with the ability to set goals, prioritize programs, and manage a diversity of cross-functional stakeholders
  • AI fluency: Demonstrated, habitual use of AI tools to accelerate work product across drafting, analysis, synthesis, and automation — not just familiarity, but a track record of using AI to meaningfully increase personal and team output.
  • Strong competency with Google and Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to craft strong presentation materials working with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience developing and implementing frameworks to structure thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making. Identify the 80/20 opportunities to reach relevant answers without boiling the ocean with analysis overload.
  • Ability to operate under ambiguity and make decisions that reflect the OCEO’s and company’s best interests.
  • Analytical, observant, and strategic, applying the right balance between data and qualitative information to decision-making and change management.
  • Willing to push back and challenge, identify, and drive the right debates up, down, and around.

Responsibilities

  • Operating Rhythm Management: Own the day-to-day execution of the OCEO operating system. Ensure meetings, reviews, and decision points happen on cadence with the right preparation, the right participants, and clear follow-through.
  • AI-Native Operating System: Demonstrate deep fluency in AI tools, role model continuous learning, and maintain a relentless focus on embedding AI into the workflows of the OCEO. Identify friction points across the OCEO’s day-to-day operations and apply AI strategically to increase efficiency, reduce cognitive load, and free up human time for higher-order judgment.
  • Bandwidth and Leadership Multiplication: Act as a force multiplier for the OCEO. Digest inbound priorities, manage the OCEO’s focus areas with direct reports, drive follow-ups to ensure the most critical agenda items are effectively prioritized and surfaced.
  • Prioritization & Time Alignment: Partner with Senior Executive Assistant and other key stakeholders across the business to ensure the calendar reflects priorities. Apply an enterprise-wide lens to balance the annual and quarterly corporate calendar against OCEO priorities.
  • Leadership Forum Owner: Organize and manage weekly Executive Team agendas, partnering across the business to bring relevant topics into discussion and visibility. Design, execute, and continuously evolve quarterly Executive Team and annual Senior Leadership Team offsites. Partner with cross-functional leaders to translate these initiatives into concrete actions across the business.
  • Master Project Management: Partner with VP, Strategic Operations in orchestrating select, high-impact strategic initiatives. Own the design and execution of project plans, manage cross-functionally, and ensure continuous alignment with co-CEO priorities and perspectives.
  • Drive Organizational Efficiency: Identify opportunities to promote efficiency and effectiveness across our organization, ensuring that both our services and teams can scale and that we are structured to promote maximum value for our business and communities. Participate in organization design discussions to support Scopely’s evolution and the change management execution to ensure target outcomes.
  • Co-CEO Communications: Drive the development and execution of internal and external co-CEO communications. Develop company-wide messages and other communications that articulate corporate strategy, inspire, and drive accountability across the organization. Develop thought leadership that elevates Scopely’s profile and perception in the marketplace.
  • Media & Speaking Readiness: Partner with Brand and Corporate Communications to ensure the co-CEO is well-prepared for all media relations, internal and external speaking engagements, and external forums. Co-develop briefing materials, talking points, and messaging frameworks.
  • Context Dissemination: Provide context, direction, and thought partnership to functional leaders, administrative staff, and support teams on behalf of the OCEO. Ensure that decisions made in leadership forums are communicated clearly and understood across teams.
  • Cross-Functional Connection: Leverage unique cross-functional exposure to identify misalignment, surface dependencies, and ensure initiatives and stakeholders across the business are operating for maximum impact.
