THE DIVISION The Executive team coordinates the policy direction and management of the Department of City Planning. The team consists of the Office of the Director, Office of the Executive Director, Office of the Chief Operating Officer, the General Counsel and Communications and Intergovernmental functions. The team is responsible for setting the vision of the Department and directing resources to accomplish our goals. This motivated team works closely together and across all planning and support divisions to support a diverse set of activities that advance our mission to plan for the City of New York. THE ROLE The Executive Office is seeking a highly motivated professional with deep experience in government and political contexts to advise the Director/Chair and the Executive Director in the management of the Department and the advancement of strategic initiatives and priorities. The role requires direct engagement with all divisions within the Department of City Planning, as well as coordination with City Hall and across other NYC agencies. The Chief of Staff will be able to work independently and nimbly within a team, and is exceptional at communicating insights through writing, presentations, and compelling data visualizations to wide ranging stakeholders with differing perspectives.
