The New York City Department of Veterans Services (DVS) connects, mobilizes, and empowers New York City's Veteran community in order to foster purpose-driven lives for US Military Service Members past and present in addition to their caregivers, survivors, and families. DVS seeks a dynamic, motivated, detail-oriented and accomplished individual to serve as Chief of Staff. This position is an integral member of the DVS Leadership Team, serves as the primary advisor to the Commissioner on agency matters, and will focus on making improvements and efficiencies across the agency, enabling staff to work smarter, ultimately delivering better results to DVS clients and service providers. Reporting to the Commissioner, with the widest latitude for independent initiative, judgment and action, the Chief of Staff will provide strategic and operational guidance, coordinate intra-agency projects, and be responsible for the administration, management, and oversight of all staff functions to support DVS’s continuum of programs. As a member of the Commissioner’s Senior Leadership Team, the Chief of Staff will have the following duties:
