About The Position

The Chief of Staff for NAACP Capital will support the day-to-day operations of the fund, which is a subsidiary of the NAACP focused on venture capital. This role involves managing internal processes, engaging with stakeholders, providing administrative support, and participating in investment activities. The position requires familiarity with venture capital and investment-related roles.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years' work experience with a demonstrated ability to adapt and be successful in a variety of environments and roles
  • Minimum of BS degree
  • Alignment with the fund's mission
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Highly organized and comfortable with the use of workforce tools to manage workflow and projects
  • Superior writing skills and ability to synthesize takeaways from meetings
  • Strong proficiency in the MS Office 365 suite and in building presentation decks (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, and Trello
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Based in Los Angeles or willing to relocate to Los Angeles
  • Willing to co-locate with the Managing Director and team, up to 3 days per week
  • Willing to travel (up to 10%)
  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day internal operations of NAACP Capital to ensure efficiency and effectiveness across the Fund
  • Develop and implement processes to optimize operations, reporting, and analytics
  • Provide administrative support to the team
  • Facilitate communication across NAACP Capital team, investors, portfolio funds/companies, and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate and manage service providers
  • Actively support in investment processes, including sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities
  • Lead special projects that address fund-wide priorities and opportunities, such as Scout and Intern programs
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and sounding board for the Managing Director on key fund-wide efforts
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the organization
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Managing Director, NAACP Capital or other designee
