About The Position

Advanced Houston Specialty Hospital is looking for a Chief of Security to lead and develop a team of security professionals in our newly renovated facility at 205 Hollow Tree Lane, Spring, TX. In this role, you will oversee all security operations, ensuring the safety of staff, patients, and visitors while supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare services. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing security policies, managing security personnel, and collaborating with healthcare and administrative teams to maintain a safe, secure, and compliant environment. As the primary point of contact for security, you will play a vital role in risk management and fostering a strong culture of safety. Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED.
  • Six years full-time, wage-earning correctional custody or law enforcement experience to include three years in the supervision of employees.
  • At least one year of the required supervisory experience must be as a mid-level manager (supervisor of supervisors).
  • Must be a skilled communicator with the ability to effectively interact with community and customer representatives, staff and patients.
  • Excellent written communication skills and computer proficiency.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the safety and security of the facility.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate a team of security officers, ensuring adequate staffing, adherence to protocols, and professional development.
  • Ensure that all staff are trained in de-escalation techniques, emergency response, and proper handling of incarcerated individuals in a healthcare setting.
  • Collaborate with security officers, healthcare professionals, and administrative staff to maintain a secure environment while supporting patient care needs.
  • Monitor facility security systems, including surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
  • Establish and update security policies to reflect best practices in correctional healthcare security.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for security and healthcare staff on workplace safety, conflict resolution, and security awareness.
  • Conduct regular security audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead security responses to emergencies, disturbances, and incidents within the facility, ensuring quick and appropriate action is taken.
  • Oversee investigations into security breaches, contraband discoveries, and any incidents involving violence, threats, or escapes.
  • Maintain detailed records of incidents and security operations, reporting findings to facility leadership and external agencies when required.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility-specific policies regarding security and inmate patient care.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for security-related matters within the facility.
