Work involves providing assistance to the Facility Administrator in planning, organizing, training and directing the security functions of the Dickinson Adult Detention Center. Starting at $85K + depending on experience and qualifications Essential Job Duties: In the absence of the Administrator, oversee the daily operations of SWMCCC to ensure that the agency mission is carried out in accordance with established standards, goals, objectives, the ND Century Code, and the Policies and Procedures of SWMCCC. Organize, develop, and implement policies and procedures required to obtain and maintain contractual responsibilities with outside entities. Represent SWMCCC on committees advocating for the institution and inmate population needs. Assist in projecting and requesting the SWMCCC budget. Ensure that work, education, recreation, medical, and custody programs are designed to meet the changing needs of the inmate population. Assist with the review of concerns of staff and inmates related to the medical treatment, discipline, safety, security, and custodial measures provided by the institution. Provide second-in-command coverage in Operations Administrator’s absence and serve as the Administrator’s representative in the community, statewide, and nationally. Assist in developing revisions of policy and procedures, inmate handbooks and unit plans. Serves as a member of the Administrative Team. Assists in the coordination of the volunteer/contract staff training program Conduct inmate mediations Maintain current knowledge of program guidelines through review and research of changes in rules, regulations, federal and/or state laws, etc. Provide information and assistance to other staff and the general public individually and through seminars and workshops. Perform routine program administration tasks including responding to inquiries, developing informational or educational materials, developing and maintaining data files for monitoring program effectiveness, and completing required reports, etc. Provide direct input to establish program policy and procedures. May provide input used for program development and design. Develop and implement procedures for program administration and provide modification as needed. Respond to problems of a complex nature and provide final resolutions or recommend acceptable resolutions to the Administrator. Prepare monthly report on progress of your duties to the Administrator. Maintain confidentiality Perform duties as set forth in the SWMCCC Policy and Procedures manuals Complete administrative walk throughs to ensure policy and procedure compliance and the safety and security of the institution Must maintain working communication and relationships with outside entities, probation officers and community personnel Ability to support and carry out the mission of the facility Ability to resolve disputes among staff, staff and inmates, and inmates. Establish and maintain a working relationship with the administrative, professional, line staff and inmates Ability to select, train and supervise staff Perform staff evaluations; provide for informal and formal staff complaints and grievances Responsible for issuance, maintenance, and control of weapons and chemical agents Must work an on-call rotation Other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
