About The Position

The Chief of Hospital Police at NYC Health + Hospitals Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of all individuals and property within the healthcare setting. This position is under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer and the oversight of the System's Chief Security Officer. The Chief of Hospital Police is responsible for overseeing all functions and activities of the Hospital Police Department, promoting a culture of safety, and implementing comprehensive security strategies that align with the organization's mission and values. The Chief will manage and continuously evaluate security operations in accordance with facility policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices. In this role, the Chief will lead the day-to-day operations of the Hospital Police Department, ensuring the development, implementation, and enforcement of security programs and policies. This includes collaborating with emergency management teams to prepare for and respond to incidents, overseeing investigations of criminal activities, and ensuring compliance with local and state laws. The Chief will also work closely with key stakeholders to define strategic directions for the department, conduct reviews of existing policies, and present findings to leadership for continuous improvement. The Chief of Hospital Police will also be responsible for managing the department's budget, staffing needs, and training programs for staff. This position requires a proactive approach to maintaining safety and security, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and within budgetary guidelines. The Chief will serve as the Workplace Violence Prevention Coordinator and participate in quality assurance activities to uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance within the healthcare environment.
