The Maryland Department of General Services (DGS) is looking to hire a talented and experienced leader to provide management and supervision for the staff who are responsible for maintenance engineering work as mandated in the Statewide maintenance and repair program for all DGS supported agencies. This position is responsible for identifying maintenance deficiencies, prioritizing maintenance projects, managing critical maintenance, hazardous materials facilities renewal, underground tank, using agency appropriations and emergency projects. This position serves as the Chief of Maintenance Engineering for the design, inspection and repair of systems and utilities related to the maintenance of buildings and grounds. This position manages fund sources (underground tanks, hazardous material, capital and operating maintenance budgets). The position also manages personnel and financial resources, in addition to developing short- and long-range plans for the program operations.
