About The Position

WVUHS Medical Group seeks a dynamic and experienced Chief of Anesthesia to lead our team of physicians and CRNAs at Uniontown Hospital. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a commitment to providing excellent patient care, and a passion for the professional development of the healthcare team. Leadership and Administration: Provide strategic leadership to the Anesthesia team. Collaborate with hospital leadership to develop and implement policies and procedures. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes excellence in patient care and professional growth. Professional Development: Mentor and guide physicians and CRNAs. Facilitate ongoing education and training to ensure the team stays abreast of the latest advancements in the field. Encourage and support professional development activities for individual team members. Practice Model: Medication direction model, average 3:1 CRNA supervisor ratio No solo room coverage – true care team model 6 operating rooms and 2 GI/endoscopy suites Closed ICU staffed 24/7, located directly across from the OR suite Established pre-anesthesia testing program Growing regional anesthesia program Case Mix Orthopedic, general surgery, urology, GYN, GI/endoscopy, basic ENT, cataracts No cardiac, no craniotomy, no complex pediatric cases Clear transfer criteria for high-acuity cases Approximately 7,000 annual surgical and procedural cases across OR and endoscopy Benefits Package Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance 403(b) retirement with 100% employer match up to 4.5% + optional 457(b) deferred compensation Short-term disability: 100% base salary for up to 6 months (employer-paid) Long-term disability coverage Basic life & AD&D at 1.5x salary (employer-paid) Employee and dependent tuition coverage up to 100% at WVU Malpractice coverage with tail

Requirements

  • Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license.
  • Successful candidate must have completed an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency program.
  • Successful candidates must be board certified/eligible in Anesthesiology.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment
